The French chap played Sheffield M25 last month, lost to Anton in the last 8; although he beat Oli Bonding earlier in this event, youd hope Toby would have too much for him.  

First set to TS 6-3.  Matisse started the 2nd set with a v. poor service game - 4 UEs.

Final:  Toby Samuel WR 329 vs (2) Ilia Simakin (***) WR 281 (CH = 228 in June)

Toby beat Simakin 4 and 4 just last week in Soma Bay on the way to the title.

What a run of form for Toby. Fingers crossed it continues for the first half of 2026 and he's in the French Open qualies draw come May

Win your first challenger title, then back it up with your second a week later - that's big! What's everyone's opinion on his potential? As he seems to be stepping up.

I didn't see any of this match, but it sounds like a very comprehensive victory.  Toby won the tournament  for the loss of only 19 games. Wow!
