Since the start of August, he has won 34 matches and lost only 3.  This is extraordinary!

He also won the silver medal at the World University Games in July which kicked all this off.

Toby is a set and a break ahead. He is looking very solid, if he c an maintain close    this level he is an easy winner

Toby lost that break, but immediately got it back:

QF:  Toby Samuel WR 329 defeated (8) Sergey Fomin (UZB) WR 358 by 4 & 2  biggrin

Where on earth are these performances coming from?

SF:  Toby Samuel WR 329 vs (Q) Matisse Bobichon (FRA) WR 804 (CH = 795 two weeks ago)

The French chap played Sheffield M25 last month, lost to Anton in the last 8; although he beat Oli Bonding earlier in this event, youd hope Toby would have too much for him.

First set to TS 6-3.  Matisse started the 2nd set with a v. poor service game - 4 UEs.

Toby leads the second set 5-2 with two breaks of serve.  There is only one outcome here.

Toby beat Simakin 4 and 4 just last week in Soma Bay on the way to the title.

Toby looked quite comfortable from what I saw.

What a run of form for Toby. Fingers crossed it continues for the first half of 2026 and he's in the French Open qualies draw come May

There seems to be no stopping Toby at the moment:

Final:  Toby Samuel WR 329 defeated (2) Ilia Simakin (***) WR 281 by 0 & 2

Easy peasy!      Rather a pity that the season has to come to an end for him!

Win your first challenger title, then back it up with your second a week later - that's big! What's everyone's opinion on his potential? As he seems to be stepping up.

I didn't see any of this match, but it sounds like a very comprehensive victory.  Toby won the tournament  for the loss of only 19 games. Wow!
