I saw on her social media, she was playing with a bloke who wanted to return a pros serve and she said she couldnt go full out because of her shoulder so am presuming shes injured?

 That's a very good draw

Ryser needed three sets and a third-set TB to win today, against the Russian 'middling' youngster - I saw a bit of it - it was hardly 'scary' stuff

Ryser has lost in the first round of her last three tournaments, including to Ranah in Glasgow (two tiebreaks)

Neatly done

Great result and exactly the sort of player she 'should' be beating as she climbs the levels.

Emily App won her doubles, just

Emily WS lost hers, as did Freya+, despite being 4th and 3rd seeds respectively

Emily App a bit lucky there. Her opponents absolutely fluffed their two match points in the second and fell apart in the tiebreak. MTB was a bit better.

The others played very poor matches against decent opposition. But given I didn't have a WTA final, top 200 and a singles ranking on EWS' bingo card for this year can't complain too match about a bad performance (mainly from Kat to be honest who had a horror show) to end the year.
