Worthy of note is that Arthur Fery won his only player of the month vote in July 2020, during Covid, a full 6 years ago. Im not sure of what he did to deserve that then, not sure weve got records anymore, if anyone remembers please shout!

11 players now qualified for the Player of the Season vote for 2026
Arthur, Henry P, Alfie, Andy Lapthorne, Alfie/Gordon are all still in the hunt for one of the Wimbledon titles that will take them into Player of the Season - albeit Alfie and Gordon are already slam winners following the French Open. Good luck to all.
Please feel free to move this post admin - I wanted to post it on the discussion about PoM but can't find it!
Anyway, want to say that something like this would be great for me but with having the addition a summary of why each player/pair won.
Hi Helen - it is in the general section just to confuse! Presumably you mean the list I keep of winners, to add in their narrative as to why they were nominated that month? Like I do with the players who qualify for the PoS vote in the list just above?
urm confused now - but in the above lists, one or two of them have '....champion' etc, but others have nothing indicating why they won.
I think you are ! The list is a list of player of the season vote qualifiers - so winning June PoM was how Henry S qualified. Henry P qualified as he won Wimbledon doubles.
players Qualify by winning or being RU in a PoM vote and also winning slam titles or by being British number one.

July Pon vote hasnt happened yet but whoever wins that or gets second will get onto the PoS qualifiers list as well for that reason.

For Helen - this is the list of Pom winners over the years. I dont record reasons, sadly it will be a big job to go back and do it-maybe someone will volunteer! the other list of players is PoS 2026 qualifiers, where I do record a reason

Still confused, but is there a 'reason' listed for the PoS winners? Same theory but with PoS.
Not getting at you, grateful for all you do on the forum, just wanting to feedback into this as an extension of the PoM you've asked for.

For Helen - do you mean this list? These are qualifiers for PoS and they all have a reason against their name? I dont list the reason they won PoM in the first place here as tbh its more work so Ive never bothered and dont really plan to. So, Anna McBride, for example, is January PoM RU and so qualifies for PoS that way. Thats the reason. And similar for the others. I never put the reason here that they actually won or came RU in that PoM vote as its too much work, tbh. The reason she did well in January PoM vote and came second was winning the AO for her disability class. But the reason she is in POS is she was January POM runner up. And as she may do more over the season, the AO win may be only part of her story. So I just leave it as January PoM RU.
When they get into the PoS vote in January 2027, I dont give narratives on their year or how they qualified - again lots of work and I let people make their own choices as I dont wish to sway their views. People are grown ups and can do their own research at that point, i believe!
Is this what you mean? If not, Im really confused ! Maybe somebody else can try and explain!!
