ITF Wheelchair Tennis Tour 2026

Great result for Gordon today, destroying de la Puente - no one beats 3 Brits in a row, as someone may have once said.

Alfie is on the verge of victory and so an Alfie v Gordon final will happen tomorrow and a British winner in Rome guaranteed!

The Junior World Team Cup that starts today marks the first standalone junior World Cup and also the first time separate boys and girls events have taken place - before, the teams have been mixed teams, meaning largely boys for most countries.

GB is represented in both the girls and boys events as the teams battle to become world champions over in Belgium.

In the mens, Gordon, Ben and Alfie all won their openers, particularly well done to Ben.

In Quad, Andy and Greg both lost their openers. Gregs loss was disappointing but not a big surprise.

In doubles, Alfie and Gordon are top seeds and Ben plays with Miki of Japan

in quad doubles, Andy and Greg partner each other.

In Belgium, GB boys beat Japan and move to a 2-0 record, the GB girls beat Brazil 2-0 and move to 1 all.

The boys play in two groups of 4 and I assume the top 2 progress to the semis, so GB look good for that. The girls is a single group of 6 and are sitting fourth after day one, will presumably move up today. It doesnt appear clear if the groups lead to a final but, if the event ends on Sunday, it looks like that schedule would only allow for an all play all round robin with the group winners taking the title. All will become clear or maybe someone else knows?!

Gordon Reid lost to Oda in his last 8 match today. Alfie only Brit left in singles and plays semis tomorrow.

Alfie and Gordon and Andy and Greg are into the mens and quad doubles finals, both got there courtesy of walkovers.
