Thanks for the link Indi - what a prospect the young and talented Matt Knoesen looks to be - will follow his progress with interest smile

Yes, thanks Indy - I hadnt seen that. He does look like he has a great future ahead of him; hopefully he will continue to make an impact at juniors for a year or two before moving to play senior events. The junior number one, Jin Woodman, is a bit older but is playing quad events now and was in the quad French open. Not sure of nature of Matts condition and whether he has mens or quad ahead of him, but Im sure he will make a mark.

Note - nominated for our player of the month!

The Wimbledon entry list and wildcards are confirmed:

Womens singles - Lucy Shuker has a wildcard, one more to be awarded

Mens singles - Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid are in directly, Ben Bartram and Andrew Penney have wildcards

Quad singles - Andy Lapthorne is in directly, Greg Slade has a wildcard

So 7 players in singles. The singles players also make up the doubles pairs, so will all play in that event as well

Eastbourne is next week and the British Open at Roehampton the week after, so we will see most of these players in one or both of them

The Eastbourne Open starts today, which is a WC500 event, with 8 player draws in singles and 4 pairs in doubles

Mens - Gordon Reid is top seed and Ben Bartram also plays

Womens - Lucy Shuker is in this (7 player field)

Quad - Andy Lapthorne, Greg Slade and Oliver Cox go in this

For anyone at Eastbourne this week, might be fun to take a look, and support our players!

Gordon and Ben both won in mens singles; Lucy lost in womens and Greg and Oliver in quad. Andy still to finish his quad singles opener.

Fabulous win for Ben Bartram today over
Japanese, Miki. Ben plays Gordon Reid in the final, so a British winner guaranteed.

Andy L and Greg S are in the quad doubles final.

Cant see any results of the finals in Eastbourne - anyone any idea how they turned out?

Gordon beat Ben 6-0 6-3

Can't see what the quad doubles result was though.

British Open WC 1000 started today - its the Masters series equivalent for WC. Gordon followed up his Eastbourne title with a first round loss, sadly.

Of all the 5 British men, 2 women and 4 in quad opening round matches, just Alfie in mens and Andy and Greg in quad singles moved through to the last 8 of their respective events.

Alfie wins the semi and plays Oda in the British Open final.

Alfie and Gordon in the mens doubles final versus de la puente and Spaargaren

Andy and Greg in the quad doubles final versus Sasson and Vink.

I noticed that Greg Slade has moved above Andy Lapthorne in the quad singles rankings this week, now 8 and 9 respectively.

Both are in Wimbledon, although this won't impact seedings as only 2 players are seeded in the 8 player quad singles field.

Well done to Greg and hope he and Andy can get British Open titles in the quad doubles today.

Alfie sadly went down 3 and 1 to Oda.

Oda clearly a big favourite for Wimbledon.

Doubles finals yet to be completed
