ITF Wheelchair Tennis Tour 2026

In the British Open doubles finals involving Brits, Alfie and Gordon won the title, but it was tight, 11-9 in an MTB. But well done to them and they will go into Wimbledon with confidence as top seeds

In the quad doubles, Andy and Greg were hammered and won just one game. They will also be in the Wimbledon field.

The draws are out for the wheelchair events at Wimbledon, as follows:

Ladies - singles

Cornelia Oosthuizen plays French Chasteau, who did so well at the FO.

Lucy Shuker plays Chinese third seed, Li.

It will be tough for both of them but, should they spring surprises, they will meet in the QF round

Ladies - doubles

Lucy partners South African, Montjane and they play Chasteau and Griffioen (NL)

Cornelia partners Bernal and they play 2nd seeded Li and Wang of China

Mens - singles

Gordon Reid has drawn top seeded Japanese, Oda. Ouch

Ben Bartram plays another Japanese, Miki. Ben beat Miki at Eastbourne just the other week and so will be confident he can replicate that.

Andrew Penney plays Ter Hofte from the NL

Alfie Hewett, seeded 2, plays Egberink of the NL

Mens - doubles

Alfie and Gordon play Egberink and Ter Hofte

Ben partners singles opponent, Miki, and they play Houdet and Ji. Should they win, they will play Alfie and Gordon in the semis

Andrew plays with Israeli, Lysov, against Oda and Fernandez

Quad - singles

Greg Slade plays top seeded Dutch player, Vink

Andy plays Argentine, Lazarte

Quad - doubles

Andy and Greg partner each other and play Schroder (NL) and Woodman (AUS), the second seeds

Looking at the draws, hope to see opening wins for Alfie and Andy L in singles, with Ben and Andrew Penney having a chance of an upset.

In doubles, Alfie/Gordon will win, and Lucy + and Ben + could both get wins.

Rest look hard!! Very hard!

Today is mens singles and womens singles first round (quad starts tomorrow).

Men are playing first series of matches across the courts, then the women:

Sadly, but not surprisingly, Gordon lost 3 and 1 to Oda

Andrew Penney is a set and 5-3 up on Ter Hofte. Ben is a set and 5-4 down to Miki, which is disappointing (see above).

A win for Andrew, though, would be great, come on lad!

Ben went down 4 and 4 to Miki, he will be disappointed with that although in line with rankings

BUT Andrew Penney gets a marvellous win over Ter Hofte. Andrew is ranked 20th, Ter Hofte is 13th and he wins 6-3 6-4. Well done, Andrew!!

And Lucy goes down 1 and 3 to Li. Which means our WC women's singles event is all done and dusted on day one, sadly.

Quad event will start tomorrow, as will the mens and womens doubles events

Quad singles - Andy Lapthorne got a solid win over Argentina's Lazarte 7-5 6-2, well done to Andy

Greg Slade went down 6-0 6-3 to Vink, not a surprise though.

In men's doubles, Alfie and Gordon won their quarterfinal in straight sets.

Andrew P is on court now in MD and Ben Bartram plays later; Lucy and Cornelia go in women's doubles later still

Lucy came through her womens doubles quarterfinal in 3 sets, well done! Into the semis where she and Montjane play top seeded Kamiji and Zhu. Cornelia + lost.

Andrew Penney lost his quarterfinal to de la Puente, comfortably, but should be pleased at getting his first round win.

Alfie on court currently against Ji and is a set and 2-0 up.

Oda is similarly leading, Fernandez won and joins de la Puente as the first two into the mens singles semis.
