Well well well. This is excellent from these two lads. Arthur joins George in the FQR

QR2:  Arthur Féry WR 185 def Bernard Tomic (AUS) WR 184 (CH = 17 in January 2016) by 6-4 6-2 biggrin

Arthur looked really good - I love his game. Like you CD, Geroge and Arthur are my favs too, so thrilled for them if not a little disappointed overall.

Just to note, as Arthur retired from his previous match, he looked ok. Took a timeout for a nosebleed but otherwise looked fit.

We're having a good day, LordBrownof biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

George manages to keep the flag flying, albeit courtesy of Nishioka's retirement:

The up & coming Yank beat the Austrian q19, Sebastian Ofner (WR 131), by 13-11 in the third set super tie-break...

The story behind Basavareddy's comeback.  The Brit qualifiers & other players in action Down Under & in NZ overnight are also given a brief mention.

Poor Ofner, doing 'a Katy'. Not classy if Basavareddy was indicating that he choked.

To make it slightly more understandable the article should probably hsve said "However, final set tie-breaks in Slams are played to 10 points".

I was there when Katy Dunne celebrated her Wimbledon qualifying win only to realise the tie break was to 10, which she agonisingly lost...

I saw the Aussies did this last year and really like the idea - and good on this guy for winning it a getting 1m AUSD!

This is the sort of innovation we should have as opposed to some of the other things like the battle of sexes or the us open mixed doubles.

This has happened for the last few years in December at the NTC. I'm not sure if it's for any money or just for fun but I don't believe it's ever publicised anywhere? Lloyd Glasspool won last years title, serving an ace past Alfie Hewett en route.  Its a mixture of players and coaches, including 70 odd year old Loius Cayer participating. I understand anyone that ever held a singles world ranking only has 1 serve.
