Week 4- ITF W100 Fujairah, UAE (Hard)

Combination of big serving and even bigger ball striking form Harriet. Equally not the best day from Parry however was never really allowed to play well for big parts of the match.

Harriet lost to Alina in three sets when they played in 2023, maybe the new improved Harriet can turn that around.

Someone, somewhere suggested she needed a rest, perhaps this has done it?

She hasn't really had much of a break, she played the 1st week in December so 5-6 weeks off before qualifying.

I was actually surprised that prior to today Diane had a 2-0 record against Harriet and both matches on grass, as Diane would be a player that I would expect Harriet to beat when at her best.

I may be imagining it, but it seems to me as though Harriet has a good year followed by a lean year and last year was definitely a lean year, atleast until the Autumn.

You.look to have something there, emmsie:

From the WTA site, Harriet's year end rankings:

2021 - 120, 2022 - 98, 2023 - 138, 2024 - 88, 2025 - 176

She changed her training base after the summer. She now lives and trains in Dubai which seems to have done her the world of good.

Harriet wins 6-4 6-4

Couple of sticky moments but generally pretty in control

I might be mistaken but isn't Harriet's biggest title to date only at 30K level?
