Ruby was well up in the third wasn't she?

Katy missed a match point at 6-5* second set.

Ruby was 3-0, but then pegged back to 3-5 before levelling again.

Katy was 1-4 in the third, but now back to 4-4*

6-6*

Was quite a rally to be MP against at 5-6* but saved it.

Yeah she was unfortunate at *5-5 as had the point won but went the wrong way with the putaway.

Ferocious hitting from both girls, but that was a cruel net cord for the German at *7-7 and she wins. Have to say watching her serve gives me a sore back with that motion!

Gutted for Katy, played very well for most of the match.

Darn, lost it 7-9.

Had a MP at *7-6, missed that than then suffered a net cord to go 7-8* down.

I just tuned in for the latter part of the TB but there were some real quality points.

What a battle cry

3 hours 37 minutes and 129 points to 128. That's just over 7 points average for every game.

Three wins is great but it was so nearly five.

Yes - I'm like you - pleased buuuuuuut not so pleased

If five were greedy, four would have been acceptable

However, they all did great - so sorry for Katy (she needs it a bit more than Ruby)

But hey.....

Millie is playing the young German who won the French Open juniors last year in doubles

She's good but youngsters like that are not a consistent product, more up and down than most (as Emily App showed with Stusek) - Millie should have a decent chance

As should Hannah, why not

Emily App has a tough ask though

My take: Malygina definitely had a good day - she made remarkably few UEs, and kept the ball deep and well place

Hannah actually played quite well - I've seen her play MILES worse biggrinno

So it was a good match but....

Hannah's game broke down quicker than Malygina's - Hannah would hit two or three deep, penetrating shots, but she couldn't hit a fourth, and Malygina could
