Week 4- ITF W35 Birmingham - Indoor Hard

Emily lost in 3, so Millie is our last hope and she is a break down.

I think i'm correct in saying that Malygina is UK based as she plays all the UK tournaments and tebds to partner Alicia in doubles

Good job, Millie

As previously, I had her as our best chance, given Eva's age and lack of experience.

Lovely to see her stringing some wins together

Indeed it is. She seems to have stagnated a bit over the last 12 months for whatever reason but hopefully a few wins will give her some confidence to try and improve her ranking this year.

Ive only seen Millie in action once, against Harriet at Ilkley. Her issue then seemed to be poor movement and then lots of errors which may have come from court speed and poor movement together. I dont know if that was generally a thing, it was then. Hopefully that is improving

Hannah has just lost 3-6 2-6 woujd be interested to.know was it an off day for Hannah I have seen Malygina a few times in Glasgow she is nothing soecial.

My take: Malygina definitely had a good day - she made remarkably few UEs, and kept the ball deep and well place

Hannah actually played quite well - I've seen her play MILES worse biggrinno

So it was a good match but....

Hannah's game broke down quicker than Malygina's - Hannah would hit two or three deep, penetrating shots, but she couldn't hit a fourth, and Malygina could

She has made the final. She played well at Wrexham, but as many in that ranking bracket - lacks consistency across tournaments

Yes, indeed. But Pace hasn't been that impressive this week anyway - she could so easily have lost earlier on - Malygina didn't have to do too much today to beat her
