Bejlek put out Ostapenko WR24 6-4 6-3 in the match before Sonay's.

But just 2 players can knock Sonay back, Caty McNally by winning the Ostrava 250 title and Sara Bejlek by winning the title here - and Sonay plays Sara in the QF so she can sort that out tomorrow.

 Because Bencic was a late withdrawal after the qualifiers were placed and I assume the action had started, nothing to do but replace her with a LL. As top seed seed she was to have a bye into R2 and that's the position Zarazua took over.
