Having Romanian heritage making her popular with the locals I think she's playing here because she's got a very nice appearance fee. Remember she has to use 1 of her 2 play-down exemptions to play this event (top 30 players are not allowed to enter a 250 if they would be accepted into a 500 the same week without using a play-down exemption.)

The match before Emma's has just finished so it looks as if Emma will be on early.

Emma had multiple chances to break early on and didn't take any. The service games were the issue

Against a player ranked 97. She dug that one out but was outplayed in the first few games. Not very convincing. Hopefully Emma can wrap this up 6-0 in the second set to restore a bit of credibility.

13 games in a row would be quite something. Does require going 0-5 down in the first place in a first set or second set ( after losing the first ).
