Boys & Girls: J30 Liverpool Indoor hard (Week 5)

Sienna won, but the scheduling is odd.
Boys final is at 8.30, I assume they have flights to catch. The girls is after the girls doubles

A little shout-out to 14 year-old Audrina Neeladoo - this is only her 3rd ever tournament, and she gets the doubles title smile

Millie Ryder (also 14) has a far bigger results sheet - 11 events played as opposed to 3 - but it's her first ever title, so congrats to her too

The boys are a lot older (Max has already turned 18) and it's the second title for both of them

Sienna lost in the final, but has played qualifiers over the weekend for the following week.
So, potentially 2 singles matches on Sat and 3 on Sun.

Just to be clear, this is for the Tennis Europe 14U event, not the actual J30

She lost in the final of the TE, but qualified for the J30 in the same weekend

Audrinas a nice player and seems a nice girl. Not so keen on Millie. A moon baller (albeit a good one!) and a bit standoffish and moody. Never really seen her smile. To be fair though Ive only watched her a couple of times.  Great result for both of them though

Out of interest, would you describe a male player the same? (Moody, standoffish and never see him smile?) Some players just don't give stuff away, there's a number on both side of the adult pro tour.

I don't think the male/female aspect is relevant. I Just think they are really inappropriate comments to make about a child on a public forum, even more so when they don't know them and have only seen them a couple of times.

I respect the other people's views but my own view is that people can be too 'sensitive' about what is appropriate or not. Again, just my view.

Rose obviously is involved with junior tennis, knows all the players who are mentioned here, and a whole heap besides

She's one of the very few who has 'insider' knowledge and prevents this forum just being a results posting place, and makes it also a source of information that can't be gotten elsewhere - the results posting is a useful resource, of course, and people don't need to put credit by the opinions if they don't want to - but just having 'X won' and 'go, Y!' is hardly a unique selling point

I also think it's a perfectly reasonable thing to say, nothing to do with girl or boy. 'A bit stand-offish' is not rude - how else should she phrase it?

And of course Rose doesn't know the girl inside out and backwards, she's not her mother. But, as long as we're polite, we have the right to have opinions and to say what we've seen. In fact, that's the interest, for me. It's not a lie, it's an opinion, written as an opinion, relevant to tennis, based on her knowledge and I find it interesting.
