British Tennis Forum February 2026 Player of the Month Award - Nominations thread

1 Katie Boulter - for winning Ostrava 250. Katies form was not the best in 2025 and early 2026 ( understatement) . It saw her fall out of the top 100 . But this was a great way to take those steps back to recover it. A couple of 3 set battles against Havlickova and Korpatsch. Convincing wins over Fruhrvitova, , no 5 seeded Golubic and Volynets. Now comfortably back inside top 100.

2 Hephzibah Oluwadare - for her singles contribution towards Ohio State making the National Team Indoor Championships final - OSU women's team first ever nationals final. Her wins in the championships included a defeat of last season's No 23 while under immense pressure for the winning team point which resulted in the tournament's biggest upset of Ohio State knocking out the pre-tournament favourites UNC in the QF, reportedly saying it's the hardest thing she has ever done. Her performance earned her the Big Ten Freshman of the week award.

3. Yanziye (Judy) Zhang - born 2011 - age 14 and 3 1/2 months - won the singles title at the J30 in Liverpool - her first title (we've got a good crop of 2011-ers)

4. Annabel Wong (born 2010) - Miss 'I-(nearly)-never-lose-a-final' - has just done the double, winning singles and doubles at the J60 in Denmark. Annabel has a very handy knack of winning titles, this is her 4th singles and 2nd doubles title. It's also her 3rd singles title on the trot. She's never lost a final (that I can see - add: but should have gone to specsavers)

5. Felix Mischker - won the W25 doubles title in Turkey. Age 22, this is his first ITF title at this level (I believe) and Felix is a good guy, who's had quite a lot of interest on this forum, due to him and his brother, his Youtube site, his stories, fund raising efforts etc etc. Good luck to him

6. Jack Pinnington-Jones - from qualies, had a breakthrough week in terms of international recognition at the Dallas Open ATP 500 event where he reached the last 8. In the process beat world number 20, Cobolli, as well as wins over Spizzirri and Kypson - 3 of his best wins ever by rank. As a result, improves to a new CH and GB number 5 level of just inside the top 140 and possibly higher by month end.

7. Dahnon Ward - Taking the title in the Bolton 100 Indoor Mens Wheelchair singles. His week as a whole has been amazing. Ranked 43 coming in, he beat fellow Brit Joshua Johns, 7th seed (WR29) Charrier, 32nd ranked Israeli Berdichevsky, WR42 Cooper of the USA, and then 2nd seeded Anderson Parker of Australia, WR 21 for what looks like his best title in a number of years, if not his best ever (tournie rating system has changed recently so hard to tell)

8. Sofia Johnson - as a qualifier WR 1218 won the W15 Palm Ct USA beating the top sead WR 453 score 4&2 in the final

4 days left in this months nominations process. Nominations will close Sunday. Will aim to get the vote up Sunday evening or Monday morning, it sort of depends!

Anyway, any nominations you feel like making this week, get them on there as the week progresses and look forward to a good vote this month.

Nice to see Katie needing a further update. Probably easiest to update again when she gets knocked out of Merida ( or wins the title! )

Good stuff - and with 12 singles players heading into Friday (as you point out elsewhere), then maybe one or two others will creep over the line as well
