Week 6 - ATP 500 - Dallas, USA (indoor hard)

JPJ warming up against Cilic. This should be really interesting.

JPJ not in this - backhand isn't its usually reliable and punishing self and he can't get into any rallies. 6-1 Cilic.

Colic too good. Serve as good as ever, JPJ just cant get a racquet on it. Anyway onto set two. First set to Cilic 6-1.maybe if he had colic JPJ might have won.

QF:  Marin Cilic (Colic/Ciclic/Civic) (CRO) WR 61 defeated (Q) Jack Pinnington Jones WR 173 by 1 & 4

Still good experience for him.

Had two break points but Cilics serve came back into play. An ace an then its all over for JPJ. Good lesson learnt. You can see how he needs more experience at the higher level to learn how to deal with servers like Cilic.

Decent showing from JPJ. You don't get serving like that too often in the challengers. Two bps in the final game and Cilic hits four straight aces. That's why he's a slam champion and multiple slam finalist.
Probably significantly underranked as well at the moment.

Fabulous week though - wondering where next? Maybe Acapulco qualies and then a shot at IW?

Still, a fabulous, hopefully breakthrough tourno for PJ, and he's certainly got our attention now smile
