Merida won last week's  title quite easily, losing only one set in the five matches he played.  And who did he beat in the first round without breaking too much of a sweat?  Let's hope Toby has better fortune tomorrow. Their match is scheduled for not before 14:00 (Tenerife time is same as UK time).   I'm looking forward to watching.

Not related to this tournament, but is there an update on Dan?  He has played only one match in the last 5 months and I can't see him on any entry lists.  Is he focussing on life after tennis?

 Someone wrote that he played in the Indian Premier League or some such in December and did reasonably well in terms of a few matches and reasonable results. He then played AO qualies and got beaten easily by Sakamoto 1 and 2 I think it was. Not sure what plans are going forwards
