I see Oceane had to take a wildcard. Her ranking is false and she got to the SF at Manchester. I would have Oceane as favourite. PS Hannah bring your earphones, she is a very noisy player...
Yes, at those odds above, and with her middle ear 'injury' supposedly better, I would bet on Océane too, especially on indoor hard courts in winter
(she says she still can't play in very hot, sunny conditions - the middle ear thing is not compeltely cured)
But Océane's results recently haven't been amazing - yes, she made the SFs in Manchester - but Millie Rajecki came very close to beating her - and Océane's results before that haven't been amazing
But, again, I think Hannah's odds are slightly flattering
An up-and-down first set, with some double faults when she didn't want them, although some very good serves too, saw Hannah lose the first set 3-6
But the second set was tighter - with a few outrageously good shots from Hannah, some rescues when break points down, and then - right at the end - Océane seemed to have a rush of blood to the head, played a horrible dropshot, when there was no call for it whatsoever, dumped it half way up the net, and Hannah took the second set 7-5
Hannah lost the 1st set 3-6, 2nd set got to Dodin serving at 5-6 and after winning most of her service games easily she relaxed, made some errors, allowing Hannah to break to take the set 7-5.
Hannah lost the first set 6-3 and needed to save four breakpoints at 4-4 in the second (3 doubles in the game), but came through 7-5 to force a decider
Dodin seems to be upset, gets broken and produces lots of words and gesticulating.
Yes. To be fair to her, and unlike a lot of the other French women, she's not swearing like a trooper - just a lot of 'it's not possible, I'm so awful, I've hit the same ball out four times in a row'.....
She 'stole' that second set - and then had all the momentum
Océane is a one-trick pony but she does her one trick very well - the balls are flat and hard and deep
But Hannah wasn't too fazed, was pretty good at absorbing the power, redirecting, moving up the court, not getting forced back - and (key) kept landing her first serves
