 Maybe

Aikawa looked OK in Manchester and Birmingham - bit less so in Sheffield

It's certainly a decent draw for Angelica

Had to think for a moment who you were talking about - then my brain woke up.

It is confusing for thos that that haven't yet got to know her. Can we just use one name or the other please.

She is Eliana according to the ITF, but still Angelica to the WTA. I'll post as she is shown in the draw biggrin

We would if we knew which name to use

Paulisi saw her recently, and said she was using Angelica, for her stringing of rackets, for admin, etc. So that seems like her active choice

And the WTA use that

So I'm using Angelica

But for those who prefer the ITF, using Eliana seems reasonable too

I don't think there's a perfect solution

I'll confuse you even more and call her Gel - the name she calls herself in all the videos I saw with her when she was at Stanford.biggrin

Yes, I wasn't sure about the 'should' - it wasn't a dreadful draw but, as above, the Japanese player didn't look too bad in the GB events

I saw the Japenese player and wasnt impressed.
Angelica/Eliana is struggling for consistency.

Yes, the Japanese player has a fair ranking - about 500 would be top

But Angelica has a fair ranking too, on everything she's shown so far

ADD: Of course, Angelica might be injured again - but I don't like to assume our players are injured when they lose, even if they are prone to it, and especially if I'm not really following their opponents and don't know whether they too are carrying injuries
