Race for the Wimbledon wildcards 2026

I doubt either have done enough yet (or could ever?) but it should be noted that

(1) Jesper de Jong was outside the Wimbly entry list (pretty sure) and is suddenly through to the last 16 at RG

(2) Moise Kouamé is obviously miles out of qualis or MD and has made R3

Interesting - the more I think about it, those 6 locked in Brits we have all talked about (Jan, Jake, Jack PJ, Arthur, Toby, Billy), and which are all top 200 players, may be it.

If Stan does have one and someone like Berrettini or Dimitrov is out there, or one held back for any special grass performances this next few weeks, that would be the 8.

Yes he'd always been confirmed, hence why I nominated him for the last player of the month

Could Monfils be the other one? He isn't showing in the qualifying or alternates list, and he did say that he'd asked for a wildcard.

Goffin is on the alts for qualies, he may well ask for a qualies wild card (as mentioned somewhere up this thread)

Welcome to the board, Emmie! And yes - that list of Stan, Monfils, Dimi and Berrettini makes it very interesting!!

Yes, with Jan in the MD there are surely these 5 GB 'locks'.

Liam could do with a very good week or two and / or getting himself onto the grass. Harry and Felix keep creeping up.

Some would give one to Henry Searle, or at least suspect the AELTC will award him one. I wouldn't, in spite of a slight upturn of late. It should be a Q WC at best for him.

Hopefully we will have more GB MD WCs than the 5 locks. But we will wait to see what other Brits really stick their hands up and/or what other appealing cases there are from non Brits.

Last year was the only year (as far as I know) that they only played two rounds in the LTA wildcard playoffs.

However, there has been at least one recent year (and quite possibly more) where there was a

strong supposition that all four finalists would get wildcards even though this wasn't guaranteed.

(And the supposition ended up being correct).

I used to spectate regularly -- they would let me in despite the no spectators rule.

But last year, I actually had to trek home without spectating.

If anyone knows of a player who might sign me up, please let me know.

Thank You.
