Yes, looks to have been a tremendous match. I've just seem 5 minutes hightlights for now.

Very well done to Jack, and to the GOAT, still playing not bad - Jack sure had him running around

I wonder when we last had 2 in the QFs of a Masters? Jack's 6th and Cam's 5th but it's not previously them in the same Masters.

Edit :  out of interest, I just then looked at Andy, Tim and Greg together - maybe Cincinnati 2001 when Tim made the SF and Greg the QF?

2022 Draper and Evans Montreal. Not sure if there is another one.

Duh, I was totally forgetting about Dan. Thanks. Not quite such a huge wait, then.

That match was a great watch - kudos to Jack for that win smile

Hopefully he's in a good place physically for the next challenge

Imagine if it happened at Wimbledon the British press would be going crazy for these two. They would knock Donald Trump off the front page

I'm not sure what happened, but the Beeb says there was a controversial "hindrance call"

A bit annoying that for such a long tournament they play back to back nights at this stage.

 My thoughts exactly.

Scheduling a bit diabolical to have these back-to-back days. Shame to see both bow out, but a great tournament for them both! Great to see Jack back at this level, let's hope he remains healthy.

Apparently jack thought Med hit a shot out, he waved his arms. They carried on the point which Med lost and then he asked for the umpire to rule on whether the arm waving was hindrance. The umpire said it was and gave the point to Med. Seems they had a long and friendly chat at the end about it but Jack and Med were best buddies but agreed to disagree on it. Jack said Med won fair and square and had no issues with him.

IMO, simply no ( well to the first sentence, I agree the rest. ).

They had two halves schedued on alternate days earlier on which works. These halves have to be brought together at some point on to the same day. So one half will then not have a day off - unless they have a longer tournament with one half having 2 days off and no men playing on one day ( which does happen between the QF and SF of Slams with extra timetable room.). All the players in Jack and Cam's half played on succssive days so no advantage to competing players in that regard ( Alcaraz and Medvedev also didn't have a day off ).

Clearly anyway, away from Masters a tighter schedule than here is the norm. Sorry, the fact that Jack for one would at this stage quite probably have preferred a day off is nothing against the schedule.

I guess starting the MD a day earlier could allow the Slam one day off / two days off scenario ( one the women don't have, finishing a day earlier ) if it was considered a real issue. I really can't imagine that it more generally is though. The SF and final are still scheduled for Saturday / Sunday. Need to literally start the MD on the Monday, like for Slams, to avoid that altogether, so would need Q done and dusted before then - by the Saturday so that no-one plays on successive days?

At worst, maybe a bit annoying if you are in that second half and / or short of matchplay. But certainly not diabolical.
