One that Lily should have won. Valentina is inconsistent - lost to Katy in Sheffield and Alicia in Trnava, but reached the second round from qualifying last week.

Lily's only won two matches this year - and only one match against a player in the top-1000 - it's hardly a good base - I don't think she 'should' have won this one

To be fair, this is only Lily's third tournament of the year and in the previous two she has lost to players currently ranked 221 and 172. That's why I mentioned Katy and Alicia beating Valentina.

Hope Emily felt a bit of comfort in the familiarity of competition routine today. Tough to get back out there. Tamara doesn't play a lot of doubles and her surprise and joy whenever she hit a volley that went in was quite amusing.

Thought Heather did well not to get flustered in the first set when her opponent was playing a pretty good level. Useful points.
