Week 11 - ITF M25 - Heraklion, Greece (hard)

Seems still a lot of rain about and Henry and Giles still not completed their QF matches, albeit Henry at MPs.

Henry 6-2 5-3*

Giles. 4-6 *4-1

The other doubles SF ( winners due to play Ewen+ ) is still to be played.

Henry and Robin came out, were knocking up, about to start - and, no, it didn't start to rain

Rather, Henry wasn't happy with one corner of the court, jsut behind the baseline, where obviously there's some rain damage of some description - no puddle, but maybe the court has puffed up a bit, rain's got underneath, whatever

And so now it's suspended again - and there's a whole delegation of officials prodding and poking it

It never rains, but it pours

There's a guy there now, with some special sealant - and something that looks like masking tape - doing a quick botch job, I reckon

I think Henry might be playing on a different court - they were gesticulating off to somewhere a bit further off

To be confirmed

Excellent win - in trying circumstances

They probably ended up playing in the car park with a rigged-up net

We're a bit short of titles this extended week, so keep playing some kind of matches somewhere.

He's trying - he's just won the first set of his SF

Henry is a set up in his SF. Not sure if they can finish the tournament, don't ITF rules dictate you have to be done by the second Monday?

Yes

Earlier today, the order of play had all the QFs remaining, the SFs and the final

Now they've taken the final off

So I take it that they want to get the SF stage finished and have cancelled the final

It's one set all and they're playing a MTB for the third

Terribly close

At 7-7, Henry went for a tricky drop volley when he had a far easier 'claqued' volley to do - he made it, it was a beauty, but it was the wrong choice, the other guy got to it and passed him. And then it was 9-7.
Henry saved the first MP with a lovely serve and winner.
But Dostanic hit a cracking winner on the second MP - his best shot of the MTB

A very good week for Henry though - good to actually play some decent tennis and get some good wins
