(7) April Sackflame v (2) Annabel Wong
April played well, she's over two years younger, she put some good tennis out there and, mentally, seems strong on the court (it's true she was 5-3 up in the second but that wasn't a mental thing)
Annabel deserves the win, though, no question
So, it's Annabel v Dani, the two 2010-ers, in the final tomorrow
Eric Lorimer won his SF in a long, three-set battle
Poor Neo had tons of chances in the second and really 'should' have won it there
But all credit to Eric - he kept coming in, he kept trying to put pressure on the 'dink it around, hit it flat, loft it, drag you in, pass you crosscourt' game of Neo. It's not easy playing as the #1 seed, especially when you're so close to losing to people ranked a long way below you, as he has been at least twice this week.
Tomorrow the girls final starts at 10am followed by the boys with stream available either via the LTA preview page (link in top post) or the LTA Youtube channel

But he kept his nerve, stuck to the plan.
However, Isaac shouldn't be scared
Isaac beat Eric in 3 sets at the J100 event in Loughborough, first round, just 4 weeks ago. Isaac lost the first set and came back to win.
Interestingly (to me ), there's two (maybe three) of our finalists today who really have something to play for in terms of wildcards
Dani Britton will be in the MD of singles at Junior Wimbledon no matter what. Either by ranking (possible), or by wildcard, come what may
Eric Lorimer is not that well ranked but there's very few players above him.
And he's an LTA favoured boy.
And he's 2010, and the LTA someimes favour youngsters
Assuming Mark Ceban is in as of right, there's only 4 other players above Eric in terms of ranking. So a very good chance of getting a MD wildcard spot whatever.
BUT the players are very bunched down in the 300-500s - so it would be perfectly plausible that a whole bunch overtake him between now and wildcard pick time.
As said, I think he has a very good chance whatever, but it's not quite guaranteed
Annabel Wong is about the same ranking as Eric. And also 2010.
But there's a whole load more girls above her in rankings
(And the same applies as to the bunching)
She has a reasonable chance of getting a MD wildcard, come what may, but less sure han Eric's, I would say (and obviously less sure than Dani's)
Isaac is obviously a complete outsider. Ranked outside the top-1000. Got a wildcard here so obviously rated by the LTA and has proved that to be right). So almost certainly guaranteed a qualis wildcard. But certainly not a main draw one.
NB In terms of predictions, the rankings are obviously subject to change in the events over the next few months
And also performance at the 18U nationals will also be important
As well as grass court events
Am really disappointed to see how Grace is at the moment. Have always been a big fan but she seems to have gone backwards.
Thought Leah played really well, just needs to cut down the unforced errors. Dani played ok - and I think she will win overall - but nothing about her game ever looks long term to me. Her placement is brilliant and she really understands the game but I just can see her doing much on the adult tour.
Liv and Millica have never over impressed me much. Again, I think they will do well at juniors but not so much afterwards. I think Judy would have been a better national academy choice.
April I really really like
Hermione is playing well at the moment. Also had a great win against Izzy Britton a couple of weeks ago.
Radostina is someone whose tennis I like and Ive always been a big fan of Annabel
Grace has a wildcard into the MD of the 18U nationals too (along with April)
She (Grace) is going to be feeling a lot of pressure, I imagine .....
