Lovely to see so many first titles this month! Let's hope that's just the start of great things for all of them.
Good performances at the top level, too, but it's Toby and Alicia who stand out for me in this (excellent) list, with their consistent and solid progress. Going for Alicia, as I feel she's in slightly more need of ny vote!
Indeed, good months by many. I had to check as I assumed Alicia had won a PoM previously, but she never has. Whereas Toby managed to win one in Nov 25 and is really proving to be one of the players of the moment on the mens side.
Rather torn here but for her battling against injury and some talented players Sonay gets my vote. Alicia came close for me but I think she will stand a better chance when she steps up a level or two in the tournament system

Indeed re Alicia if doing it up.a level or two. At 22 yo she has been a regular pro since last May now after coming through well at US college. Frankly she just hasn't been on my radar this month for these top seed Tunisia W15 titles. Fair dos on varying tournaments and winning but ...
I mentioned Alicia hadn't won a player of the month vote to date - she was of course in the Player of the Season final just a couple of months back, finishing 4th.
Sonay was also in that PoS final, finishing on the bronze medal position. Toby went out in the semis.
It was a toss up between Sonay and Alicia but I finally opted to Sonay for consolidating her place at the top table with some excellent wins against very experienced players.
I always vote for Sonay when she's had a good month as she's a big favourite of mine, and she's definitely a candidate here, but on this occasion I've changed course and gone with Toby. He's had such a tremendous run of form and a huge boost in ranking which makes me very excited about the coming months. Just hope he can keep it going through the grass court events.
