Did anyone else read in the Polish press that Michael was a possible replacement coach for Iga Swiatek, with the inference he would drop Katie to work with a Slam champion? She seems to have gone with Roig, but thought it was interesting, especially given the way Katie has improved since she started working with him.

Yes, I'm in the Michael camp ( with a little help from Alex initially ) plus Katie has come out this year seemingly with great motivation to be all she can be.

People are almost certainly right

Michael is the man

I was sort of joking - but only sort of - coz the importance of good girl/boyfriend choices cannot be overrated

Well it must help when deciding which coach to go with. Can talk it through with anomeone on the inside  etc. Winder if Alex will pop up to France to support Katie?

Looks like Katie is over and out, 1-5 down. Youngster just a lot sharper on clay. Hope Katie hasnt picked up a niggle.

Stunning performance by Podrez. She reminds me of Emma in her 1st year of WTA when she was taking the ball early and attacking and invariably finding the right shot to make it hard for her opponent.
