Expecting 2 wins out of 5 tomorrow and 8 GB ladies into last 16

Good

You expected 4 today and we got 6 biggrin

So, on the 50% more track record, we should get 3 wins tomorrow smile

The more, the merrier

So Ruby is our bonus winner, and that just leaves Millie to complete the the triple.

If Millie wins her first round match and Lily M wins her next match, then we have a guaranteed finalist in the bottom half of the draw.

We'd be guaranteed 3 of the bottom half quarter finalists. But Du Pree vs Lukosiute in R2?

Very happy for Ruby

Bit tough to be drawn against top seeds two weeks in a row

She had a disappointing run recently in Egypt and Tunisia, losing to a lot of players ranked 800 or so

But that is sometimes the travel, new things, whatever....

We all know she's got it in her

Watching Ruby try to serve out sets is quite torturous, but after failing to do so in the first set twice and losing it 5-7 on a double fault, she scrapes over the line in set two 6-4 saving multiple break points in the process. Fighting like heck in this one, good scrap and her attitude so far to all the frustrations and tightening up is top notch.

Those last 3 games from *4-3 were grim sadly. What a shame. Ruby loses 7-5 4-6 6-4. It was there for the taking.

She went a break down at 1-3, a break up at 4-3 and then got broken twice to lose the match. Could have gone either way. She seemed to be doing best by just applying consistent pressure rather than taking risks.

Millie had set points at 5-4*, Katy had set points at *6-5. Millie gets it 7-6(1). Good match.

The seeds have done well in this tournament. Singles now at Qf stage and Ruby's win against the top seed is the only blot on the seeds' copybook! The duobles (as often occurs) has the 4 seeds in the semis.
