Good stuff. With his RU in last week's Abidjan Challenger 50 and now R2 so far in this week's Challenger 75, Hamish for now is up to live ranked 333 against his CH 336 and up to live GB #22. . He has no counting points to drop until his Wimbledon 2025 FQR 16 points come off in July.
With the competition this year, I expressed some doubt in the course of last week's Abidjan thread whether he would secure a Wimbledon Q WC. But with his ranking only going to go one way in the next couple of months, and bearing in mind how he did in Q last year, he could be moving up the candidate list.
Let's hope we get quite a number of Wimbledon Q direct entries ( in addition to our MD DEs and WCs ) to give more scope for Q WCs. We should certainly have some Q DEs.
L16: Mert Alkaya (TUR) WR 349 defeated (5) Paul Jubb WR 280 by 1 & 4
Just not clicking for Paul- really hoped hed make that breakthrough to top 200 again but hes not really showing hes likely to get there. Speaking as a big Paul fan.
Hamish will be gutted there's not another month of the Ivory Coast swing! Tearing it up on those fast hard courts. This should take him to a new career of 326

He edged Coulibaly in round one last week, final set tie break. Has a shot.

For sure - hoping he can make it a double with the bigger points on offer this week.
We currently have 21 players in the top 300 on live rankings (including Ali Gray who will now be ranked in the 380s).
Once Max Basing is fully fit and competing again, it won't be long till he's also top 300, but I'd love to see Hamish get there. A final this week would do it (from my very rough calculations)

We have 'just' 20 players in the live top 300 for now, i.e. the 19 we have in the 20/04 rankings plus Ali Gray, live ranked 291. Hamish will indeed make it if he reaches the final here, and it would then be 21.
