Week 18 – ITF W35 Nottingham 2, Great Britain - Hard

And as Ruby beats Lian Tran and Edie beats Demi Tran, someone has to take the plunge and say:

It's not been a great day for Trans today

Disappointing from Alice too, who has lost a bit of the sparkle she was showing at times last year and threatening to look like a top 400 player. Back down she goes when last years final points come off.

Katy makes a mess of things from *5-1, but her opponent throws in a couple of tame doubles in the tiebreak and she gets it 7-6(3). She's by far the better player, just needs to keep it calm.

Two super wins there (Edie and Ruby)

Two close ranking matchs - one either way- Katy yes, Alice no

One rather sad loss (Vic)

One good effort but very much expected loss (Allegra)

And one all-GB match

That's a pretty decent day

With so many Brits still in, it would be nice if someone had posted the 2nd round draw

Brendan - it will be posted once the first round is complete - there are 9 matches being played today. In the meantime, if you look at the first round draw you can work out who is left in.
