Emily is playing well! It's nice to see her really going after the ball and being aggressive.

Did a quick bit of semi-serious maths, and if she only played 35ks and reached 18 finals in a year (out of the 40+ weeks she usually seems to play!) she would be top 200 easy ;)

 Absolutely !

I keep saying that Emily App is our top-200 player in hiding biggrin

One of the best serves out there in our group

But she seems to play best at this time of year - has a good spring, a good grass season, I think it's finally happening and then sort of goes off the boil

She goes into her shell a bit sometimes - there's been SO many matches where she had the level, the score's been close, but she doesn't seem to quite manage to impose herself

Meanwhile, Alicia is having quite a battle

Another fave

I'm having a lovely morning

I saw Otzipka play live at Roehampton - it's a strong game, aggressive, but little margin

Yes, I saw Otzipka play twice at Roehampton - not all that impressed and Alicia should win this.

My feeling about Otzipka was that she's so aggressive, hits such a flat ball, that there are obviously days when she must play brilliantly - it all works - I was quite impressed by the upside in her game

But she has no fallback game, and obviously it's hard to keep that level all through a match

Alicia has to be patient

Coz Otzipka will hit a lot of winners

And as above really

Otzipka hits a couple of cracking backhands at the start of the TB

Alicia stayed in it

Alicia gets a bit lucky ay 3-4 (I think the call was good but Alicia had no idea really where the ball was going)

And then Otzipka didn't make the backhands on the next key points

Our girl had two SPs

Dumped the first forehand into the net

But went for it on the second point and forced an error

Emily still on the acceptance list in Japan for next week, at #2 in qualifying. It's a Sunday draw, but she would make the main draw anyway and wouldn't have to play before Tuesday or Wednesday.

Could this be Freya's third title in a row ? Vic and Millie weren't very convincing today.

Freya and Kristina win 6-4 6-2

First set to Alicia 6-3, but from the scoring it looks very tight, with 5 breaks of serve so far.
