Week 18 – ITF W35 - Boca Raton FL, USA - Clay

Ranah and Hannah should be in the main draw. No-one is in the acceptance list for qualifying.

Hannah had strapping on her right shoulder, had the trainer on, seemed to be popping painkillers

And it was pretty touch and go, tbh, though she carried on so - presumably? - it can't be too bad....

R1: Hannah Klugman (GBR) WR 550 def. (wc) Ariana Ikwueme (USA) (age 17) UNR (JR 338) 7-5 6-4

Capucine is the granddaughter of Francois Jauffret

Francois Jauffret twice made the SFs of Roland Garros singles; played the most Davis Cup ties of any French player, and got up to #20 in the world, I think.

I think Ranah was ahead in the first set for a while, so bit of a mystery why she went downhill so much.

I watched a bit of Hannah- she looked like she was enjoying herself.

Ranah was 4-1* up, and then lost 11 out of the next 12 games.......

There is only one seed left, the 5th seed, who Hannah could play in the SF if she gets through the QF.

Typical Ranah. Gets the odd win, but very few back to back wins.

Good to see Hannah back winning
