A list of the direct acceptances for the men's doubles was made available on the FO site yesterday, with Brit interest as follows (current rankings):
- (1) Harri Heliövaara (FIN) & Henry Patten CR 6 (3+3);
- (3) Julian Cash & Lloyd Glasspool CR 13 (7+6);
- (4) Christian Harrison (USA) & Neal Skupski CR 13 (12+1)
- (8) Francisco Cabral (POR) & Joe Salisbury CR 31 (23+8);
- (16) Luke Johnson & Jan Zielinski (POL) CR 63 (35+28);
- Jakub Paul (SUI) & Marcus Willis CR 150 (76+74).
Before anyone says anything, I am aware that wolf said earlier in the week that the LTA doctor had told Luke not to rule out participation in the FO completely. However, he posted yesterday that Luke would not come back until Queen's, so I think we can forget about him & Jan in Paris. I'm assuming that the horizontal line under the names of Kecmanovic & Kokkinakis means that those below it are alternates, in which case Josh Paris & Trey Hilderbrand are in with a shout, while there's no chance at all, sadly, for poor old David Stevenson, as Cleeve Harper is paired with Reese Stalder.
The English version of the site comments as follows:
The men's doubles competition also looks set to deliver plenty of excitement. Winners of the 2025 Rolex Paris Masters, Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten will be eager to extend their success in the French capital by adding Roland-Garros to their list of achievements. But the task will be anything but straightforward for the Madrid champions, who will have to contend with proven clay-court specialists such as defending champions Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos, as well as the Italian duo Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori. Other partnerships on a strong upward trajectory, including Guido Andreozzi and Manuel Guinard, will also be keen to shake up the established hierarchy.

L64: Jakub Paul (SUI) & Marcus Willis CR 147 (72+75) vs Tomás Martín Etcheverry & Camilo Ugo Carabelli (ARG/ARG) CR 353 (160+193)
Not sure how I missed that. In my defence, I would point out that I used the ATP site because it's easier to check on rankings & that shows only the Swiss flag against Paul's name, so I missed their draw when I scrolled down the list (several times!) & if you click on Marcus's name, you get the stupid "unforced error" page!

I expect there have been many a time in the past that Marcus' parents have thought that 'unforced error' might be a good description of said much-loved son
