Whats the odds the Emma retires if she goes down in the first couple of games in the second set?

Quite short. I'm sorry to say but that was a total embarrassment. No fight, no plan B, too many errors, totally outclassed.

Fran on the other hand showing all the fight that Emma lacks.

Great! Well done Fran. Always felt she would win once she cut out the errors. Classy at the end from Maia.

Gosh, H-M will be furious - she was a set up and twice she was a break up in the second, I think

(Mind you there were LOTS of breaks....)

But very gutsy from Fran - great focus on the job in hand

Great job Fran. At 0-2 down in the third I just didn't see a way back for her but she was brilliant.

Emma showing why the court allocation was more than fair. Diabolical.

Maybe if Emma had played a bit more like the last few games earlier on things would look different?

Maybe if Emma was fit enough to put in a full clay court season things would look a bit different? Fifty years after Sue Barker lifted the title here, you feel like we are going backwards on clay. Would love to hear her take on it. Too many excuses me thinks? Hannah managed to reach the SF here in juniors and Fran can play on clay. Even Andy could have a good go.

Much better in the second set, as Emma recovers from 1-4 to get to a tiebreak, despite dropping serve again.

Sierra having a very good tiebreak though.

Second set Emma at least looked like a proper player. But the better clay courter, mover and fighter won. Credit to Sierra for really going for it in the tiebreak some of those backhands were stunning.

Well played Sierra. She deserved the win. Better player on the day. Sharper , quicker and more powerful with her ground strokes.
