Disappointing from Freya/Eden. Not sure they'd be my pick for any wildcards over the grass, although Eden has a 125 final that's keeping her ranking afloat to defend.

They've just won two titles in the UK, one of them right under the noses of the LTA

And then Freya won a third one

I'm not sure losing on clay is the end of the world

True but they were a pretty weak 50/35 combo after a pretty iffy run of results together at the start of the year (though fully accept you can only beat the opposition on the field!) and both are ranked lower than they were a year ago. I guess I'm just thinking back to last year when Maddie Brooks was overlooked despite being higher ranked. But given the history of unused wildcards perhaps there is room for everybody!

Oh, I agree - I doubt that Freya & Eden are high priority

More chance that Mimi, Mika, Hannah etc will get doubles wildcards, to be honest

At least that saves the LTA a few shillings

But I think they have at least made quite a statement

My guess is they'll get a wildcard for one (at least) of the grass warm-up events and that'll be the deciding factor
