Entry Week 24 - 15/06/2026

Is WTA Nottingham going to be stacked, meaning few even qualifying places for Brits?

No WTA 125 or ITF though the Q WC play-offs for these involved towards the end of the week.

The LTA website lists 21 players for the main draw - 18 of which are top 50. Katie B needed a WC to get in. The WTA also list 20 qualifying players (out of date since it includes Katie). WC's only for the Brits.

The lack of WTA125 or ITF means not a single woman in Wimby qualifying is playing a grass event the week before. The lack of playing opportunities this week for women in Wimby qualifying was blantly obvious when they changed the grass season schedule a couple of years ago. I cannot fathom why they thought that was a good idea.

Also WTA Nottingham itself which was turning into sort of a haven for British success in the previous slot is now perhaps not going to be the same.

Interesting from that live-tennis schedule how many more top players Halle hss compared to Queen's.

Yes, past few years, Halle has gradually had the stronger field by rankings, but Queens has been able to get players like Alcaraz to make it look better. This year, the gap is quite stark.

If there is a grass 1000 going at some point, Halle is leading the way right now.

Does Halle have bigger prize money than Queen's?

it's all about tax. Germany has a much more favourable tax regime for non-resident sports people than the UK.

100% - total nonsense there's nothing on grass this week.

Katie, Fran, Harriet and Mika get the Queen's wildcards.

Maria was first out of the main draw as of last night I believe.
