How good was that game to break in the 3rd set? Super mentality throughout.

Really good to see from Emma and Olivia too.smile

Emma 1st on tomorrow at 12:30 which is an hour before play was due to start with the winner playing Jovic 3rd on who has a doubles SF after that. Katie vs Vekic sandwiched in between.

Two lucky losers and a wildcard in the last 5 left.

Chris Goldsmith and The Tennis Talker drumming up.a lot of twitter anger about the scheduling
The disadvantage that Emma or Rak. Will be at by playing two matches tomorrow when they were hanging around and could have easily played theor match on one of the empty courts
Now, I'm not too fond of Chris, and an Emma match is tricky to kick off to non-centre court
But he's got a lot of traction with it because obviously it's a fair point
And on top of all the rest
(Now, Emma, go win both! :))

Emma would be seeded at Wimbledon if she makes the top 32 by reaching the final here?

Looks like it. OER predicts WR31 with only Krejikova still playing from the few players in her way. She would have to beat Anisimova or Jovic though

 Looks like Iva so far.

Looks good with a final, though there is still the big WTA Berlin 500 tournament next week ( for which Emma herself is entered ) plus WTA 250 Nottingham.

Absolute outsider but if Katie carries on playing like she did yesterday she must have an outside chance of lifting this title. If she plays Nottingham next week and picks up some points wouldnt she be in the running for a potential seeding at Wimbledon? I know there is a lot of water to flow under the bridge re other players and competitions in the run up to Wimbledon, but a lot of the top players havent had that much practice on grass and at Queens it showed.

Emma reaching the final would put her into a seeding position. Katie winning the title would lift her to around 38, and still about 60 points adrift. She is dropping points from Nottingham last year (net24), so would need another good run there, probably the final.

That was the best I've ever seen Katie play. The 3rd set was really top 20 tennis, maybe even higher. I'd actually say she is the favourite to win this title now.  It is all about the first serve though and that will need to hold up.

Anyone wanting to watch Emma's QF has the option of BBC2 (until 1.25 then BBC1) as well as the BBC website etc.
