This looks like a superb facility, and could be gamechanging for grass court tennis - while there might be a problem with the 50k purse, there's no climatic reason why they shouldn't be able to play on grass throughout the year in Egypt.

Yes - doesn't it look beautiful?

And would really make Egypt stand out, give it a USP, so to speak

Mallorca has, of course, got the ATP event and stuck with that; Antalya/Turkey has tried odd events over the years but they haven't stuck as venues. Hope this one does

No disrepect to Summer, but she is not the strongest singles player and her doubles is more of a priority, but these easy points will jump her ranking significantly.

Allegra needed that after being broken while serving for the set at 5-4. Sedysheva hammered the ball into the back boards/cage after losing that set and both players were very vocal both in frustration and encouragement

Ball thwack and racket throw from Allegra after missing MPs on her serve and getting broken back cry

Are the spectators being offered hard hats at this match?

Allegra takes it 8-6 in the tie break, never gave up in the final point chasing it down a number of times (one of her shots looked so close to being out) before Sedysheva goes wide

Sedy. not happy with the umpire on that last point

But she'd had a dead net-cord earlier in the tiebreak

Either way, Allegra wins, and takes the spoils
