Not that I will mind but I like to see people in the MD that could win and so agree would love to see him rewarded with one! :) as he has proved he could.

Yes, and he's always been very adept on grass - some of his best results at Surbiton (P-H H match was an all-time classic)

But I don;t think he'll get a MD one somehow - not unless he goes deep here

I do think though that Harry may have put himself at the top of the GB queue after the 5 top 150 players plus Dan. So may be in competition vs foreign players.

Comment inadvertently posted by Crispy on the Nottingham thread:

Harry punching very well with BVdZ. Toughest wimby W/C year in recent history. I think we might get multiple players coming through qualifying with decent draws. Such depth we have in this 100-300 range.

L32:  Botic van de Zandschulp (NED) WR 56 defeated (Q) Harry Wendelken WR 224 by 6-4 7-6(5)  hmm

BvdZ won five points on the trot from *2-5 to take that tie-break & with it the match!  Harry certainly didn't disgrace himself (on the evidence I saw from about 2-2 in the second set) & will, I hope, have learnt a lot from it.

Great looking score from Harry though, after 2 good wins to get in!

Watched the majority I would love to see Harry get a MDWC! His opponent really just had a very clutch good serve that saw him out of lots of situations... commentator suggested Harry running out of money so a WC would help that and imo earnt!

He was serving for it at 6-5 and is now down 4-2 in the tiebreak...

Pity JPJ's service went off the boil in the middle of the twelfth game of the final set & in the tie-break.  cry

A shame - it's my feeling that Jack PJ always has a tendency to wobble a bit at key moments - he did as a junior and I'm not sure it's got better

BUT this was a very good result, no doubt about it, an excellent score against a quality opponent.

I just never thought that Jack would win.....

Didn't realise PJ had that tendency as a junior - he seems to stop playing his own (quality) game right at the sharp end of matches sometimes. Hopefully it can be worked out
