Bouzkova beat Navarro in the final, just to put Hanah's match into perspective.

Good luck to Harriet & Maia - will be starting soon I believe shown on Iplayer. Both looking for their first WTA title, Harriet has lost 2 previous finals in Nottingham.

Brilliant result, girls !

I've always liked Harriet's doubles, probably more than her singles, really - she's neat, and thoughtful - and then pulled out two excellent serves just when it mattered, when it looked like it might be slipping away from them and was getting tense

Bravo to both

Harriet could easily be a top 50 doubles player, and higher if she committed. I think she maybe has too much pride in herself and her singles to do that unfortunately.

Harriet and Maia make a pretty good team. Since the beginning of last year when they've played together they've reached at least the semi final over 80% of the time and the final in their last 5.

Most recent first:
WTA250: Winners
WTA125: Final
W100: Winners
WTA125: Final
WTA125: Winners
WTA125: Semi-Final
WTA250: R1
Wimbledon: R1
WTA250: Semi-Final
WTA125: Semi-Final
WTA250: Semi-Final

I think Maia would love to have Harriet as a regular partner but clearly Harriet still wants to focus on singles as her top priority.

But I feel like the thing holding Harriet back in singles is Harriet herself, she gets so hard on herself and lets her emotions overcome her whereas in doubles alongside the right person she's got the extra support and motivation, plus she's always been very good at the net

Harriets ranking is too low for them to play together in the higher level events.

Maia also needs to improve her ranking. Hopefully they'll have a good Wimbledon and we will see them play together more often.

If they can both rise another 20 places, they should be able to play in the US Open together.

Agree with you SuperT.

And if Harriet concentrated much more on doubles I am sure her ranking would improve quite a bit further and they would be able to play regularly in the top events together. Playing together more regularly they should improve further as a partnership

Just with the title here, Maia is up 8 places to WR 61 and Harriet up 24 places to WR 86. Actually a combined rankimg of 147 is already around the general mark I think of for getting into Slams. 140s certainly has been the case in the past.

Understandable though that Harriet still has such singles concentration.

I saw the start of their quarter final match and didn't think they would win that against the top seeds, but hey clearly upped fheir game after i had to go. Then went to the final yesterday when they played really well. I'd seen their final opponents come back from a set down and then down in the tie break in fheir semi final so i wasn't surprised that they made something of a fightback at the end of the 2nd set, but maia and harriet looked like it was theirs to win throughout. Really nice to see them get the win!
