Week 24 - ATP Challenger 125 - Lexus Open - Nottingham, Great Britain (grass)

Felix heavily beaten too. Suspect that he and Jay had other things on their mind.

With the points they are dropping this week, Jake and Jack Draper will fall to GB #7 and #8 respectively on Monday.

With also Arthur charging up the rankings ( live GB #4 ) and other moves, it's not looking great for As You Were in the Ranking Prediction Competition!

Let's hope for a much better second half of the year for Jake and Jack and ongoing success for others.

okay Billy hasnt had his best season but is ranked 140, absolutely works his socks off and is a good grass court player.

Looks like Billy might be close to a qualifying seeding. I would very much hope he gets one, unless the rankings are based on this week?

Pity for Billy but he did get much closer to Virtanen than Felix did, which I'd say is no surprise given he is to my mind quite simply a better grass court player at this time.

The real surprise to me was that Billy was being offered at 10/3 against to win the match, which ultimately he didn't, so a little hit to my finances even though I still think that it was a 'value' bet.

Virtanen is a superb fast surfaces player, Indy. All of his 10 challenger finals have come on grass or indoor hard. I certainly hope he avoids our lads in Wimbly qualifying.

Thanks wolf for such context that I didn't know before I plunged in ( though I guessed he couldn't be thought of as too bad at all on the surface, given the extreme odds ).

All the more credit to Billy for at least taking him to 2 TBs, although there were no breaks of serve in the match with just 2 BPs each.
