She's had a big jump in the rankings this year and i'd expect her to plateau and consolidate her ranking around the 200's.

Ahhh, but when she was about 450 you said you saw her path purely in doubles and didn't think she had much upside in singles

So you know that Alicia is now going to jump 100 places

And rather predictably gets broken again so Sonmez is serving for the match at 6-5

Harriet has now lost 3 of her last 4 matches 7-5 in the third. Ouch.

In tears before it was even over. Just zero belief.

you knew what was going to happen the moment she got broken serving for it, mental fragility has been the story of Harriet's career and I don't take pleasure in saying that

I don't think Harriet has had a coach for a while. For the past year, I've only seen her boyfriend in her box - who I don't think has any connection to tennis (but I might be wrong).

Well, wild cards are for learning so all good. I'm sure she learnt lots.

I watched the second half of Maia and Isabelle's match. I've never seen them play so well and it was a really fun match which they won in a MTB.

Freya and Eden lost in 3 sets.

It's rather worrying to see a player about to turn 30 repeatedly break down in tears during matches, she seems normal off-court but still emotionally immature on it when things go wrong.

It also feels like it must be very little fun for her - any job you do, it should hopefully be more fun than not, otherwise it becomes a real slog. And almost better to do something else that is fun.
