Yes - I got tickets for all 4 days. Ive really enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone that hasnt been especially with all the GB interest that we have, £20 per day is decent value for a day out.
Yet another excellent day at Roehampton yesterday, one really hopes the upcoming site move doesn't spoil it too much.
Was a beautiful thing watching Evo's final ever match, what a servant. He seemed determined to enjoy the occasion, which was great to see. Lots of chatting away with the crowd, didn't entirely follow what prompted him to tell someone 'All the pressure's on him, none on me' as that was on the other side to myself. Schoolkate will be one of the strongest handful of players in the qualies draw based on what I saw.
Billy was excellent I thought. The Hungarian lad seemed incredibly cranky, not sure if he's usually like that or just the weather. He was having some verbals with the crowd after he was broken for the first time, hope that wasn't anyone off here. Then seemed to get visibly annoyed at one point when he was moping about a line call and some bright spark in the crowd shouted 'Line ball mate'. Soft target for the banter boys. The point Billy played at 30-30 when serving for the match was great.
Tarvet was a monster. Really impressive. He must have been smashing the gym the last 12 months, legs like tree trunks and pecs like rocks. Unlike Mr Searle's performance, at various points across both sets he really delivered in spades on the big points. I actually thought Galarneau played quite well.
Not really relevant to this thread, but did make me chuckle at a well refreshed group of boys referring to Watson's matches as perenniality tedious. Can kind of see their point, whilst most of the site had got through half a set, on various occasions she was labouring through her 42nd deuce of the same game against a physically handicapped opponent. That is tongue in cheek though, you can't fault her determination and skill. (Unlike the consistent deceleration of the racket on the second serve which would make some club players blush).
