It wasn't straightforward, but it was a hold!

Much better serving from *0-30 gets it done.

Could do with Podrez managing to string this match with Timofeeva out for another hour. Step up for Heather regardless tomorrow, but she's in the mix.

Considering her last 12 months, and how tight she can get in these kind of matches which she is supposed to win, thats a brilliant result. Really gutsy, and I hope it gives her a lot of faith. And that theres something left in the tank for tomorrow! Well played

Hev is second on Show Court 1 (the court covered by the BBC) tomorrow, assuming Timofeeva v Podrez finishes tonight (in the second set currently)

She did SO well - you can see her fighting her demons - she's been around long enough - she knows she has to commit to her forehand but finds it hard in pressure moments

But she worked really hard

And TP's 'challenging' of the linecalls was really annoying

So glad she won

Timofeeva was impressive on Tuesday - really stood out - her shots grabbed your eye as you walked past and I ended up watching a good 15 mins

But Heather quite likes pace on the ball - she counters it well - so who knows.....

Lets hope that Timofeeva feels the pressure of being top seed, the crowd, and that heather soaks up the pace and sees it as a free swing. Its a hard ask, but shes played really well to get here.

Very happy to be surprised by Heather grinding out the win, cant deny that I wasnt expecting her to get over the line in that one but really hope she can make the main draw again
