Today has been good - with very close losses for Toby, Cam and Harriet, this wasnt a total disaster. The headlines will be what they are, but its not all doom and gloom. Fery, Samuel and Choinski could all be US DA.

Shelton, Cerundolo (F)  and maybe J) and Tiafoe my ones to watch this year...can one of them usurp Sinner and win it?

This didnt age well - Shelton and F and J Cerundolo out in round one. Havent even bothered to check how Tiafoe got on!

My hotel on hols has no TV so cant watch any Wimbledon at all, haha. Or England tomorrow.

Bad choice! Lovely hotel but bad choice !

Tiafoe's match against Atmane is still in progress.  He leads by 7-6(6) 6-1 4-6.

But has now been suspended, presumably because of the light (or lack of it).

Excellent match, Jan

Just shows that all this idea of playing grass court warm-ups is a load of nonsense

I don't feel I 'know' Jan very well, but I've seen him play live a couple of times, and he always seems polite, professional and someone you want to support

Great serving

And showing also that players reach their prime later

The stats put it at 27, and people tend not to believe it

But he's 30 and now hitting his peak ranking

Gawd getting so old  wink   He better make sure that he is a direct entry again next year then.

- unless of course the WC committee come to their collective common senses in the meantime ( maybe pass them a few stats ).

Much better day today and a real buzz around the grounds when the Brit boys started pulling out the stops.

Obviously a dreadful look for Arthur to be caught with his pants down on that viral serve let video.

I have had all manner of non tennis supporting friends forward it me asking if I know the cheating Brit.

Agree the video in isolation isnt fantastic as he clearly does stop, but equally you see far worse week in week out. Two wrongs do not make a right but still.

Dzumhur has been complaining about a lett that wasn't called for ages. Don't actually think he's won a game since it happened. Still chuntering away but Fery just stuck his earphones in.

ETA it was a service lett. He was trying to get Fery involved, got a code violation and is still complaining

The Beeb expands on the issue!

And another one: You went to Wimbledon today right? Did you see the cheating scandal?
