L128:  (23) Rafael Jódar (ESP) WR 26 (CH = 23 at the start of the month) vs (WC) Felix Gill WR 220 (= CH) - tough, could be on a decent court though

L128:  (Q) Shintaro Mochizuki (JPN) WR 150 (CH = 92 last November) vs (Q) Max Basing WR 330 (CH = 311 in March) - tough as well, but Max might get a set

L128:  (28) Brandon Nakashima (USA) WR 31 (CH = 29 in May last year) vs (WC) Jack Pinnington-Jones WR 145 (CH = 132 last month) - Nakashima has been one of the performers of the grass season and will have a lot of experience for JPJ

L128:  (Q) Michael Zheng (USA) WR 143(= CH) vs (26) Cameron Norrie WR 29 (CH = 8 in September 2022) - if Cam is fit, he should win this

L128:  (25) Arthur Rinderknech (FRA) WR 28 (CH = 24 last month) vs (Q) Oliver Tarvet WR 344 (CH = 324 in February) - although Rinderknech has had a career year, he hasnt done anything much on grass. With the form Ollie is in, he could take this one and should be on a decent court

L128:  (19) Karen Khachanov (***) WR 22 (CH = 8 in July 2019) vs (Q) Billy Harris Billy Harris WR 142 (CH = 101 in September 2024) - Billy - so good they named him twice. Khachanov though - again, hasnt done anything on grass this season, so you never know. Should be on a decent court

L128:  (15) Jakub Mensik (CZE) WR 17 (CH = 12 in March) vs WC) Toby Samuel WR 142 (= CH) - Mensik falls into the Khachonov and Rinderknech category but not sure I can see Toby getting this one. Could be on a big court though!

L128:  Damir Dzumhur (BIH) WR 104 (CH = 23 in July 2018) vs (WC) Arthur Féry WR 118 (= CH) - Arthur can win this

L128:  (6) Taylor Fritz (USA) WR 7 (CH = 4 in November 2024) vs Jack Draper WR 160 (CH = 4 last June)  bleh OUCH - this is slam dunk centre court, not sure how draw pans out in terms of which sides play which day. Fritz is one of the top grass players right now but so is Jack. 50/50!!

L128:  Vit Kopriva (CZE) WR 68 (CH = 55 last month) vs Jan Choinski WR 106 (CH = 101 last month) - Kopriva into the semis in Mallorca this week; dont see Jan winning this

L128:  Alex Michelsen (USA) WR 42 (CH = 30 last July) vs (WC) Jacob Fearnley WR 152 (CH = 49 last June) - if Jake was on top form, maybe he could win this one, he may still do so

L128:  Valentin Royer (FRA) WR 75 (CH = 54 in February) vs (WC) Harry Wendelken WR 203 (= CH) - hard one to call, Harry could do this and Royer has no grass form I can see

-

I reckon we can maybe get 4 or 5 out of this - probably 4. But they are a tough old bunch of matches

How come Jack doesn't have a 'protected' ranking?

PRs don't count for seeding, just for entry.

Don't you have to be out for 6 months continuously to have one? Was he out that long?

Not sure....

And PaulM's answer is far better biggrin

Just wondering, SC, is it worth putting singles in the thread title as you will no doubt do a doubles separate thread in due course?

Is it singles wins or is it across singles and doubles?

Hi Sammmm - it is all 5 main draws and just British wins (see the opening post of the thread!). We count all main draw wins - a British win counts as one in doubles if it is just one player or both in a pair. Have a go! We do it all for all slams so there will be another for the US Open in a month or two!

And if you vote, tell us what you voted so we can keep a track as we like to say who gets closest at the end!

Here is the tennis abstract predictions

www.tennisabstract.com/current/2026WimbledonMenForecast.html

They forecast Cam to reach round 3 and Arthur to get a win

If you add up all the British forecasts for round one, it comes to 350% ish so 3-4 wins in round one
