Weeks 26-27 - The Championships, Wimbledon - Singles - grass

Awful. If it wasn't the third year in a row this has happened I'd be more sympathetic

1-2*

Swan gets an early break in the second thanks to great defence and deep groundstrokes that Begu can't handle

Not obviously, she just can't cope with the depth of Katie's groundstrokes and when Swan goes on the attack it's usually been a winner

Katie S is playing well, winning 94% on 1st serve.

With Katie B a break down in the second having lost the first looks like Ms Swan is our only hope in the ladies singles.

I see that Tyra had great success in junior slams, especially playing doubles with Jovic. Another one to watch in the future.

Grant about to serve for the match up a set and a double break, only just over an hour

Boulter is painful to watch sometimes. Keeps going for clean winners and missing by miles then doing exactly the same again next point.

A single break there was always a chance. At 2-5* it's done. Really poor performance - as good as Grant has played Katie offered so little quality to make her have to think.

Grant has played well but Boulter has made it as easy as possible for her I fear.

I know Swan is playing Begu but she is playing v well

Another massive disappointment and missed opportunity for Katie B at Wimbledon. It feels like Wimbledon after Wimbledon there's so much promise and she delivers so little.

 Or now. Unfortunately.

Her dad is American, a basketball player

Tyra played for the US up until two years ago

But she moved to Italy (for his basketball) as a young girl

And said a couple of years ago, that she didn't like America

And so switched to Italy

I also like her because she told the Elite Tennis Centre in Nice (where Meg Knight is now) to go stuff it - she was there three weeks and said their advice was just daft and didn't suit her at all - good girl
