Chwalinska eats up a wildcard and falls in the first round having served for the match in the second set

She twisted her ankle on MP

But carried on, so admittedly it can't have been TOO bad

But she looked worried, and troubled, by it - it wasn't a 'normal' match

Ostapenko clipping so many lines. Harriet did very well to get up up a break in the second and battling so, so hard to try and get under Ostapenko's skin.

3-6 5-2*

Alicia getting blasted through the court by other Alicia. Not playing badly in the bits I've seen, just Parks hitting big and in. 2-4*

Yes

Very gritty, as we always hope for / expect, from Harriet

And it was a good service game at the end - two excellent first serves that really annoyed Penko

OK. I still absolutely think it was right that she received a MD WC.

I agree she deserved one, just found it interesting that after the discussion around who should and shouldn't get one she ended up losing first round - although as I gather CD and Pete are saying it was in extenuating circumstances with an unfortunate injury

That's such a shame and understandable it could cause a loss in confidence with her having only played 1 other grass match since 2023

Alicia got three individual break points at 3-5*, mainly because Parks got tight. All saved with good serving.

3-6 *0-0

Harriet broke in the third and then Ostapenko got two dead net cords and breaks back 1-1*

Harriet breaks and broken again. Rather feel that one hold from Ostapenko will be enough if the Latvian can keep her cool.

Alicia now started to see it slip away set and a break down

Indy may have to get his head round the fact that it really doesn't look like a good day crycrycry

Ostapenko vs Dart. The worst standard of play ever on a Wimbledon show court.

Not at the end of the set. Harriet goes down fighting. At least Harriet put up a fight.

Ah Harriet. Loses 6-4 in the third but I'm not sure she could have done any more. A lot of her opportunities were a result of Ostapenko going off the boil and it always felt like the Latvian would get it together eventually.

and Alicia's brief fightback is ended by Parks as she loses in straight sets, 0-3 for the women with Fran, Mimi and Hannah to come

This is quite worrying for our brits male and female on day one. 0/5 so far

Someone needs to stop the rot! Cam is struggling. My 36 wins prediction looks like it should be halved lol.
