But Caleb Griffith lost a tight match (Caleb has an interesting game - it's technically a bit ropey at the moment, especially on the forehand, but you can see his potential)
Unfortunately Liam's group also included Novak Palombo, an Aussie who won the U12 Orange Bowl and as a 13 year old already has J30 and J60 titles - unusual for a boy of that age. Liam lost 6-4 7-6(2) so finished second in his group, missing out on the semis. Oskar also finished second with a 2-1 record, but Caleb lost all three of his matches.
In the under 18s Cruz won the battle of the titans 6-4 6-4, and will face the youngest player in the draw, qualifier Jordan Lee (the doubles partner of Rhys) in the final. I doubt Jordan yet has the power to trouble Cruz, but we will see.
Jordan Lee proved me wrong, able to trade blows with Cruz Hewitt, who found himself in his first close match of the week, and turned too often to Lleyton plus team for advice, whilst Jordan seemed much clearer about what he was doing, coming from 2-4 down in the final set to win 4-6 6-4 7-5
