 Tomic found a bit of form recently. His LL spot is weird though. He gave Boyer a walkover in final round of qualies and yet got the LL spot anyway. Is that allowed? Strangely hes played Boyer twice in two weeks, the walkover in qualies here and the previous week he gave him a win by retirement when Tomic was just 3-1 ahead in the first set. 

all feels a bit strange

 Yes, I thought the same about Tomic here?  The only explanation I can think of is that all the other three qualifying R2 games were played at which point someone dropped out of the main draw meaning that the Tomic / Boyer match did not have to be played because whoever lost would have got in as a LL anyway as they would have been the highest ranked loser.  Hopefully someone here can explain what has happened.
