Alcaraz was defeated on his comeback as well. Jack needs to get himself on a plane to Switzerland, have some good R and R and comeback in January. Arthur F took ages to recover. Sonay is really taking her time as well. You cant rush back. It must be deeply frustrating for Jack but he just needs more time.

Exactly - just get it right, Jack. Toby also had the same injury and took basically a whole year off (was it 2024 season?). Jack D doesnt need the money and his longer term career will be served better. I am hoping Andy is advising him sensibly and that they reach the right conclusion.

The thing with that though is because of this stop starting, he would to return in Feb for PR.

What sort of PR would Jack even get? He has fallen so far, his ranking is probably almost irrelevant - he would almost need to rely on wild cards into some ATP events and build up through challengers alongside it and almost start his ranking again - feels like he has left it v late from the time a PR would have been of any worth? Can't help but think he hasn't been well advised!

My feeling is that he should just step away until the Grass court season. It's clear from other people that it's atleast a years recovery. Don't even bother picking up a racket for 6 months. Every time he plays he pushes back the recovery.

Doubt he's going to get such an easy ride in the next round:

L32:  Cameron Norrie WR 37 vs (3) Alex de Miñaur (AUS) WR 7 (CH = 5 last month)

Pity, as Atmane saw off Khachanov (21) in straight sets (6-4 7-6(3)).  cry

Feels like Jake is slowly returning to form. Onto Cinci qualies now and then US qualies it looks like. Id fancy Jake to get through into flushing meadow main draw from there.
