Is it possible for them to make the year-end finals given there is big points gains available for them in north america over the next 6 weeks?

I think there is a real possibility of them reaching the WTA finals. They are 8th in the race.

 If they can keep in the top 8 by end of USO, they must be in a v strong place. Race quickly ramps down with just 7 or 8 weeks of action through to end October and then the Tour Finals at Indian Wells start on 8th November.  

Good luck to them and fingers crossed they can hold on!

Their Slam record is generally woeful, if they get it together in New York and win a few matches absolutely the Finals are on the cards.

 Looking at LTR, they are 9th in the Race (someone must have overtaken them later last evening) but certainly in the mix.
